The outer part of the shoes is made from waterproofed leather. The toe area is reinforced, thus protecting the toes from bruises. Thanks to the Gore-Tex® membrane, these shoes are waterproof and breathable. The Vibram® Salix sole has been specially developed by Scarpa in collaboration with Vibram, giving it excellent grip on a variety of surfaces and good shock absorption. The different lacing systems at the bottom and top of the shoes allow them to be easily adjusted to fit the foot.
Upper: Made from water-repellent suede, with a stitched tongue, a ‘Flex Point’ element and an upper made from water-repellent elasticated material. 3D TPU toe protection provides firm protection at the front, whilst the TPU ‘Heel Tension’ system ensures a secure fit and stability in the heel area.
Laces: The newly developed ‘Speed Lacing’ system consists of two-part components made from lightweight steel and plastic. The advanced lacing system for the toe area is divided into two parts: the lower section, with its lace-insertion loops, allows the laces to be moved quickly and the shoe’s fit to be adjusted in an instant with a single movement; the upper section is fitted with a lace lock that separates the tension zones and features hooks which ensure an even and gradual wrap around the ankle, ensuring a comfortable fit without pressure.
Lining: The ‘GORE-TEX ePE’ membrane delivers outstanding performance and durability, guaranteeing waterproofing and breathability. The PFAS-free laminate, including a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish, reflects a commitment to responsible chemical management, whilst reducing the carbon footprint (in accordance with the ‘Higg MSI’).
Sole: ‘Salix Trek’, developed and created by ‘SCARPA’ in collaboration with ‘Vibram®’. A durable sole that adapts to varied terrain, with a dual-density PU midsole that ensures maximum comfort and lightness. The outsole is made from ‘Vibram® XS TREK’ rubber.
