What is a cookie? A cookie is a small text file that is sent to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website, and is stored on your computer or mobile device when you open the website. Each time you subsequently visit the website, the cookies are sent back to the original website or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies act as a memory for a specific web page, allowing the page to recognise your computer on subsequent visits to the website, including remembering your settings. Further information about cookies, as well as how to manage or delete them, can be found at www.aboutcookies.org.
How do we use cookies? The Gohike.lv website uses cookies so that the site can remember:
– whether you have already consented to our use of cookies on this website;
– YouTube and Vimeo cookies, which are unique identifiers assigned to your computer to track views of Vimeo videos;
– A Google Maps cookie that records map usage. The Gohike.lv website uses cookies created by ‘Google Inc.’ via the ‘Google Analytics’ programme. The purpose of using “Google Analytics” cookies is to improve the content and tailor the content of the Gohike.lv website to users’ needs. Further information on the terms and conditions of the “Google Analytics” service can be found at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html.
If you do not wish Gohike.lv to collect information about your activities on the Gohike.lv website, you must activate the Google Analytics Opt-out browser add-on (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/181881). This extension communicates with the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js), indicating that data regarding visits to the relevant website should not be sent to ‘Google Analytics’.
How do I disable cookies? You can manage and delete cookies as you wish. Read more here: aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies from your computer, and most web browsers can be set to block cookies from being stored on your computer. However, in this case, you will need to adjust the settings manually each time you visit the website, and there is a possibility that some services and features may not work.
