Opinel – Nr.7 My first Opinel knife – red

The Opinel No.7 has a blade length of 8 cm. The blade is made of 12C27 stainless steel modified by Sandvik and adapted to Opinel knives, a company renowned for its extremely high quality. The steel is hardened by heat treatment with martensitic tempering. With a carbon content of at least 0.40%, the blade is high quality and corrosion resistant.
Handle
The handle is lacquered to protect the wood from moisture and dirt.
Virobloc safety ring
Opinel knife No. 7, like all Opinel curved knives from No. 6 onwards, has a Virobloc safety ring invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The Virobloc ring, which is made of stainless steel, consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. The blade is fixed in both a folded position (for safe use) and a folded position (for safety during transport).
